Our Mission

The mission of the CEO Forum is to disciple CEOs and senior executives of major corporations so every employee might be influenced by a Christ-following leader.

The Forum will deliver personal, high touch, high quality Christ-centered discipleship and mentoring through a network of gifted and experienced executives and spiritual coaches and prayer partners.

The Forum will strategically convene its membership, creating venues for relationship development, spiritual encouragement, and equipping to nourish the spiritual "health" of the CEO, senior executive, and his/her family.

The Forum will provide spiritual leadership development through innovative and exclusive educational courses/programs designed for members’ distinct leadership challenges.

Brand Promise

The Forum’s promise is to be a Christ-centered ministry focused on personal relationship, discipleship, and leadership development with a goal of transforming CEOs and senior executives into national leaders for God. The work of the Forum is built upon seven foundational commitments listed below.

1. Bible – the Forum will uphold the Bible and its authority and application in members’ lives.
2. Prayer – the Forum will pray for all members and their families.
3. Refuge – the Forum will be a place of spiritual refuge and encouragement for CEOs and senior executives. Safe, confidential, personal relationships will provide a unique foundation of strength for spiritual transformation.
4. Discipleship – the Forum will deliver personal, high touch, high quality Christ-centered discipleship and mentoring through a network of gifted and experienced executives and spiritual coaches and prayer partners.
5. Leadership – the Forum will provide spiritual leadership development through innovative and exclusive educational courses/programs designed for members’ distinct leadership challenges.
6. Relationship – the Forum will strategically convene its membership, creating venues for relationship development, spiritual encouragement, and equipping to nourish the spiritual “health” of the CEO, senior executive, and his/her family.
7. Growth – the Forum will extend its mission reach to those CEOs and senior executives yet touched and serve as a catalyst and hub of next generation Christ-centered leadership development.


Vision 2020

In the days ahead, we seek to re-center and re-energize our efforts on the central work of the CEO Forum and its reach throughout the world. Our strategic activity will seek to build excellence, pursue growth, increase our scope of influence, and produce mission sustainability. Five core strategies will be used to build a distinctive value proposition for members. Each core strategy with brief summative detail is listed below.

1. Focus on the Core – engage all members through excellence and a strategic focus on the core mission of the Forum
• Center our work on CEOs and senior executives of major companies
• Build and enhance our hi-touch relational, mentoring, discipling model
• Build technology infrastructure, web, social media, and resource platforms
• Hire two additional staff to serve and disciple members.

2. Strengthen Regions – build key regions to create a foundational structure for future growth and development
• Target national and international cities for growth and development
• Re-structure organizational talent and resources to better support regions
• Establish a principal office in Dallas, Texas

3. Grow Younger – seek new members under 50 years of age, including a niche focus on next generation development
• Create specialized gatherings, educational programs, and mentoring for younger members and next generation leaders (30-45 years of age)
• Mobilize retired Forum members to “lean into” the next generation
• Hire an additional staff member to lead next generation initiatives

4. Advance Education – enhance the quality and reach of our current spiritual leadership development programs, better serving member needs
• Build educational curriculum, improve quality, focus, reach, and outcomes
• Use technology to enhance educational and spiritual goal accomplishment
• Create niche programs/practices for members with $1B+ responsibility
• Hire two additional staff members to lead and manage growing educational programs

5. Create Financial Stability – build a sustainable financial model aligned with the Forum’s mission and vision
• Establish the Vision 20/20 Financial Campaign to establish three years of runway to launch Vision 20/20
• Hire a professional development staff member

  • 1994

    • The Lord put David “Mac” McQuiston in the path of several CEOS who, out of their faith journey with Jesus Christ, expressed an interest in connecting with other Christ-followers in similar executive positions.
  • 1995

    • Mac gathered six CEOs (Dick Antonini, Dan Gordon, Bob Vermeer, Daryl Hanson, Steve Taylor and Jack Alexander) for the first meeting of the CEO Forum.
  • 1996

    • The CEO Forum was formalized within Focus on the Family.
  • 1998

    • A group of CEO Forum members met at the office of Gen. Chuck Krulak, 31st Commandant of the Marine Corps, in Washington D.C.
  • 2003

    • Mac along with Skip Schoenhals, Rich Case, Steve Menefee and Henry Blackaby met in the boardroom at Chick-fil-A headquarters in Atlanta, GA and brainstormed about developing a course (Spiritual Leadership Institute) to teach members how to be spiritual statesmen.
  • 2004

    • Steve Menefee led the first class of 10 CEOs in the Spiritual Leadership Institute (SLI).
    • The Forum began holding regional dinners.

  • 2005

    • CEO Forum left Focus on the Family and became independent.
    • The Forum began holding regional dinners to provide more opportunities for members and their spouses to build relationships with each other, as well as with the Forum.

  • 2007

    • Mac brought together the leadership of Walmart, FedEx, General Mills and Proctor & Gamble to talk about how some of their advertising dollars could be redirected to wholesome programing.
  • 2010

    • Regions were defined within CEO Forum and Regional Directors were selected and appointed.
  • 2012

    • Christ's Ambassador Curriculum is launched in Tampa, FL. Ed Kobel and David Dunkel led the first class of eight through this three-year program designed for market place leaders.
  • 2014

    • The first spouse retreat was held.

  • 2016

    • Rick Lytle becomes new CEO and Mac transitioned to Founder role.
    • Karen McQuiston retires.
    • SLI Graduate course is launched. SLIG was designed to build on the foundation of SLI and help each graduate understand what being a faithful priest/statesman looks like in each sphere of life.

  • 2017

    • The first Entrust Event was held.
